CNN Business CEO of the Year

The CNN Business CEO of the Year is a highly honorable title that is awarded annually to an executive who has had an important impact on the business world. This year’s recipient, Mike Sievert of T-Mobile, is a hugely successful entrepreneur and the chief executive officer of a company that is a major player in the wireless market. He has helped transform T-Mobile into a powerhouse.

Tim Cook’s obsession with securing loyalty from American companies

Apple CEO Tim Cook has a unique leadership mantra. It’s a combination of the big and the small.

Big: He oversees the largest company in the United States, with revenue of $715 billion last year. Despite this, he seems to have taken a hands-off approach to managing the business. In fact, he recently fired longtime friend and colleague Scott Forstall.

Small: Cook has a distinctive Alabama accent. His office is a small, askew, trapezoid-shaped room adorned with arty photographs of Apple stores and a wooden plaque quoting Theodore Roosevelt.

Small: Although he’s still the head of the house, he isn’t directly involved in the day-to-day product development. Instead, he’s hired top-notch talent from other successful companies. Those include Paul Deneve, the former CEO of Yves Saint Laurent, who is now the vice president of retail operations at Apple.

Small: Tim Cook’s management style is a far cry from that of his predecessor. Among other things, he aims to create an egalitarian work environment. This includes the creation of a matching gifts program.

SpaceX’s Starlink satellites

As T-Mobile continues to grow, its CEO Mike Sievert has struck several notable partnerships. His recent deal with SpaceX is no exception. The two companies are developing a technology partnership to bring high-speed internet to remote areas of the world.

The plan, called Coverage Above & Beyond, will leverage SpaceX’s constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. These satellites are designed to beam connectivity to mobile phones, even in places that do not have cell service.

Those second-generation Starlink satellites will be launched into space next year. They will have enhanced Ku and Ka radios, bigger antennae, and inter-satellite laser links.

Unlike traditional broadband connections, which require webs of underground cables, this service will be able to reach customers even if there is no cell tower near the area they are trying to communicate with. It will also be able to reach some users who cannot connect to the Internet at all.

Spending a lot of money on wireless spectrum auctions

T-Mobile is the second largest mobile carrier in the U.S. and it’s not afraid to spend big. Despite economic problems, the company has made impressive gains this year. And it has even gained market share at the expense of rivals.

T-Mobile’s market cap grew by 20% this year, and it’s now worth about $175 billion. That’s much more than its rivals Verizon and AT&T.

This year, T-Mobile has spent a lot of money on wireless spectrum auctions. It also has been working to expand 5G coverage, and it has a lead in the 5G race. The FCC announced plans for a public auction of a 280 MHz band of spectrum.

One of T-Mobile’s most notable partnerships is with Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The company is creating a service that will connect mobile phones to satellites. Those satellites can provide coverage in remote areas.

The FCC is also proposing a public auction of a block of C-Band spectrum. This will allow the company to provide faster wireless Internet.

A joke about Pantone’s color of the year

Pantone’s Color of the Year has become a design tradition that affects everything from architecture to fashion. It also plays an important role in marketing.

The Pantone Color Institute has been championing colors of the year since 2000. Each year, the Pantone organization chooses a color based on current trends and events in the world. Considering pop culture, political circumstances, social media, new artists, and more, the color is chosen to reflect the zeitgeist and the global mood.

In 2019, Pantone chose Living Coral as the Color of the Year. This vibrant and fearless hue represents new possibilities for humankind. As a symbol, Pantone hopes it will bring light to people’s hearts.

Pantone’s color of the year for 2023 is Viva Magenta, a vibrant mixture of pink and purple. The color is considered to be between cool and warm, between the digital world and the primordial. According to the institute, Viva Magenta is inspired by ancient pigments.
